BDSM In The News!

I came upon this story via my favorite geek website Digg.com

Goth who walks fiancée on a leash is banned by bus driver who told him: ‘No dogs allowed’

Here’s just a sample:

“Given that she describes herself as a human pet – and is happy to walk around on a lead – Tasha Maltby is used to odd looks and even odder remarks. But nothing had prepared her for the reaction of the bus driver who allegedly told the self-styled Goth and her boyfriend: “We don’t let freaks and dogs like you on.”Miss Maltby and her fiance Dani Graves were so angered they have complained to the bus company of being “victimized”.”

The article shows the happy couple walking down the street. Frankly I’m a little jealous. Not of him, not of her, but of both of them. They’ve found this about themselves at a young age.

Sure we can debate if forms of public play like this are OK or not but above all I was sooooo happy to read about it. Even though it clearly shows so many are freaked out by it, maybe this is a no-such-thing-as-bad-PR kinda thing.

Oh and I’ll bet ten bucks that the bus driver goes home and wonders why his wife isn’t sexually adventures.

P.S. I’m thinking of changing the design of this blog to something simpler. Easier to read without the white letters on black background. Thoughts?

As for my opinion on web designs, see my post on the topic.

Dude. That is every guy I had a crush on in highschool.

Actually, he’s still the guy I have a crush on. Except that now, I look all mundane, and its hard to give him a commiserating look while being all normal looking.

God, do I need more black velvet in my life or what?

Aw, they’re so cute. How could anyone discriminate against these two? They’re clearly enjoying themselves, and it’s not as if it’s anyone else’s business anyhow.

Re: blog design… I quite like the current layout, and don’t find it at all difficult to read… although I confess I am curious as to what you’d choose instead. Will check back soon to see. 😉

Ahhh, they are very cute. I am happy that they are comfortable in this dynamic with each other, and most likely I wouldn’t have a problem with it especially since they are in Goth drag.

But imagine if it were a ordinary looking man and woman. Dressed in very vanilla clothing, how would you react to that if you had children with you?

We have been to bdsm conventons where the convention hotel did ask that the guest curb some behaviours. Of course in a kink convention not everybody follows the rules and we did have a issue with a slave eating out of a plate on the ground in the public places.

We still have to remind ourselves that there are people that do not understand us and that showing certain behaviours openly we offend them. Just think of the explaination a mother on that same bus has to give her 5 year old son as to why she is on a lead.

She didn’t consent to these two making her have to explain something she really would not do at his age.

Ah delicious irony! Although I think he would make a far finer pet than she, neither of them seems to have grasped that in England the only pets allowed on buses are seeing dogs for those with vision impairment. As they both appear to have perfect vision – surely the claim to the delights of being a pet has to encompass the downside of the loss of human rights?

I write in jest, of course, they may do as they please, but to expect the good folk of northern England to go along with it, well, maybe in an ideal world, but have you visited their home town? Dark satanic mills indeed…
